OmniTotems — Intro and Claiming Guide

We’re proud to present to you all the OmniTotems claimable collection for Omnimorph holders.

What they are?

OmniTotems are a collection of beautiful, ornamental, generative NFT artworks digitally hand-drawn by Daniel Taylor.

They are objects of immense historical significance in the Omnimorphs fictional universe.

On top of awesome artworks, each totem will have a fragment of a story attached to it set in the world of Omnimorphs. Each story will relate to an artifact that is on top of each totem. There will be 14 different artifacts and 5–10 story fragments for each.

As more totems are claimed, the more these stories will unfold, and shed light on historical events set in the Omnimorphs fictional universe.

How to claim them?

Totems will be freely claimable by Omnimorph holders (only paying network fees).

The tokenIds of the totems claimed will match the tokenIds of the corresponding Omnimorphs. So, if you own Omnimorphs #123, you’ll be able to claim OmniTotem #123, etc.

Claiming will be done over our website, at https://omnimorphs.com/totems.

Technical specs

  • Totems are standard ERC721 tokens.
  • Claiming will be possible from our website, and over etherscan too (for advanced users).
  • There will be 10K claimable totems, 1 for each Omnimorph.
  • Batch claiming will be possible, however, gas fees are paid on a / totem basis (standard ERC721 minting).
  • Minting starts 26 November
  • Artworks won't be revealed until 29–30 November. Holders who mint after that, however, will see their totems instantly revealed after minting.
  • The Claim window is TBD, we’re currently having DAO votes to determine the window: one vote to determine whether the claim window should be definite or indefinite, and another to determine the exact window.
  • The reason that we chose the ETH chain for the tokens is that we basically don’t want to eliminate the possibility of building blockchain features in the future, that would integrate with both contracts.
  • Verified Smart Contract: https://etherscan.io/address/0x3cabf160081387cd7dcb775434339c42c232e23a

Claiming Guide

1, Navigate to https://omnimorphs.com/totems

https://omnimorphs.com/totems

2, Scroll down to the minting section and connect your wallet. Here you’ll see the number of totems you’re able to claim.

You can modify the number of totems that you’ll actually be claiming, and start the transaction by clicking “Mint Totems”.

Important: If you hold a lot of Omnimorphs (>20) you might see a “Loading…” message for up to 15 seconds.

The reason for this is that we’re getting the data about which totems were minted directly from the contract. This ensures better reliability, especially for users who don’t want to claim all their totems at once.

However, this does come at the expense of UX and performance so we apologize for this.

How to save on gas

Since gas prices on Ethereum are pretty crazy right now, we feel that we must highlight a few tips on how to ensure that you’ll pay as little gas as possible for claiming your totems.

Wait until gas prices settle

Since we’ll have a longer window for claiming, there’s no use in FOMOing in when gas prices are raging. Instead, wait out a great, low-gas moment to submit your transaction.

Launch the transaction with manually set gas prices (advanced users only)

How Ethereum works, is that the network processes transactions that have high enough transaction fees (gas fees) set for them for the level of network activity at any given moment. During high network activity, fees are higher, while in more vacant hours, fees get lower.

However, if your transaction is not time-sensitive, you’re able to manually set a very low gas price in MetaMask, and simply wait for the transaction to complete.

At the time of writing, gas prices are >100 gwei on average. However, if you submit a transaction with a 70 or even 60 gwei gas price set, it will be processed somewhere in the next 1–2 days.

Below I’ll briefly explain the process, but please be advised that this is for advanced MetaMask users only, so only try this if you know what you’re doing!!!

Also, there is one very important caveat until this transaction finishes, your following transactions will be queued and won't be executed, so you won’t be able to mint or buy new NFTs, exchange tokens on Uniswap, etc.

You will need to cancel the pending transaction in order to be able to submit new transactions.

One way around this is to transfer ETH to another account and do other stuff with that until the tx finishes.

1, When MetaMask opens, click “EDIT” above the “Estimated gas fee” section

2, Click “Advanced Options”

3, Edit the value of the “Max fee” field to something like 70 (can set it lower, but the transaction will take longer to get processed).

4, Save the configuration and submit the transaction. MetaMask will tell you that the Max fee is too low for the current network conditions — it is quite alright, we’re not that interested in the current network conditions now.

That is all! We hope you guys are excited about the collection! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us over our Discord channel!
